Social Services Volunteers
In Golden Age Village, the social service office plays an important role. The goal of social services is to encourage residents to manage their social, psychological and material needs so that they may continue to live independently. Social services include:

Social service volunteers must be fluent in English, Mandarin, and/or Cantonese.
English Tutor Volunteers
Most of the residents of Golden Age Village are first-generation immigrants from mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The goal of the English class is to teach basic English conversation, such as taking the bus, requesting a translator, asking for directions, etc., so that the elderly residents can live independently.
English tutoring volunteers must be fluent in English, Mandarin, and/or Cantonese.
